With the refurbishment nearing completion and the character of Langton Hall starting to shine through, it is time to share this fantastic property. Redevelopment of Grade II listed Fearnville House featured in Yorkshire Evening Post

Following the successful purchase of the Grade II listed Fearnville House, off Dib Lane, Oakwood, LS8, William Langton spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post to discuss C W Langton Ltd's plans for the development (subject to Leeds City Council's approval).
CW Langton intends to build eight semi-detached family homes on land surrounding Fearnville House, with the funds generated by that scheme being used to refurbish the historic mansion and turn it into five townhouses. A finance package has been agreed with Lloyds Bank, subject to the work getting the green light from council planning chiefs.
CW Langton director William Langton said: "We are excited to have submitted a viable scheme of development to the council which holds the opportunity to save Fearnville House, and allow this once grand, character property, to again form family homes for generations to come. Tour de Yorkshire Passes Through Masham

A sunny Bank Holiday weekend saw cyclists criss-cross across Yorkshire as professional riders completed the Tour de Yorkshire. Our staff joined spectators across the county, though our best images came from the crowd at Masham, where the Tour passed all three of our properties.
William Langton said: "The Tour is a wonderful way to show off Yorkshire, and to be in Masham for the event, with the carnival and live music, was amazing. Some of the residents said it was better than when the Tour de France visited, I'd have to agree".

The first guests stayed in 6-8 Church Street, Masham, HG4, over the Easter weekend, following the completion of the extensive refurbishment of the property. The contractors said, 'it is never easy delivering a high specification in the times scales proscribed by Langton Holdings Ltd but we are pleased to report we are on track with no significant delays encountered or expected'.

C W Langton Ltd overcomes significant engineering challenges at Broad Lane
November 14, 2017
During the course of constructions, significant difficulties were encountered at Broad Lane, LS13, due to the former use as a filling station.
After full removal of the former tanks and area around the tanks a complex solution with a combination on different types of foundations was used to overcome the problems associated with building on a combination of clay and bedrock. William Langton said of the issues "the benefit of hindsight and foresight are advantageous, however on a site like this the ability to react quickly is key. While this will have added significantly to the build cost it will be covered by our contingency fund on this job and will not affect the tenants wanting to move in this July."
The foundations are now nearing completion on the final 4 dwellings and brickwork and ground floors are commencing on the first 4 dwellings. The site is up to date with building control and NHBC inspections.

Leeds City Council sites prompt interest for CW Langton Ltd

Following the successful purchase and development of former Leeds City Council sites across Leeds, CW Langton is considering options in regards to Abbey Mills in Kirkstall, LS5, and Micklefield House, Rawdon, LS19. Both sites have been recently offered for sale by Leeds City Council, and are close to the centre of their communities.
CW Langton has a proven track record of successfully developing ‘difficult’ Leeds City Council sites. Cockcroft House, LS6, and the former filling station on Broad Lane, LS13, had asbestos and petroleum contamination respectively. One of our current work projects is developing a Grade 2 listed former library and bank in the North Yorkshire Area.
